Are you tired of getting so many emails from the site every time there is an action that is remotely related to you? You are able to control what emails are sent to you, if any, so that you only receive what you think is relevant. You can go to settings and then notifications (or click here) where you will find a series of check boxes. Uncheck one or all of the boxes depending on what you want to be notified by email about. If you are like me and are constantly on the site, maybe it is not important to receive any emails at all. If you are only on where sometime happens, maybe it is better to leave most of the boxes checked. It is all up to you!
Remember, you can set the privacy of your albums. Right off the bat only registered users can see what you are posting. If you would like to narrow that down you can do so while posting a photo or video by changing the privacy settings to friends of friends or just friends. The option on work you have already posted is accessible when you go to the album or video and click edit. Using this option you can choose whether to share with everyone or just a select few of those you have grown a rapport with. Now get out there, shoot, and share (with only those you choose to)!
Six days in and we have hit 100 members, 275 posts, 110 comments, 15 videos and 1200 photos! Those numbers tell me the site is running strong and smooth! There is a slight issue with the videos where it could take up to 12 hours from upload to be published on the site; that is to conserve CPU cycles but I am going to be adding a new server soon just for the purpose for processing video. Everything else is working perfectly! If you do notice any other problems or other features you would like to see, please send me a message and I will see what can be done! Welcome to our new site, CamTheStreet.com! Candid forums have sprouted up everywhere and the scene is really over saturated with them. While there were only a few of us that stood out from the rest, maintaining a forum is a difficult task and requires more people and time than one would imagine. Between moderating members, content, comments, and just overall keeping everything running smooth, it gets harder as the community grows. TheCandidExchange being 5 years old at this point has seen a lot of members come and go, and it has been overwhelming trying to keep the elite happy as well as the lurkers. That is where this new idea of a candid community comes in...
One of the biggest problems the elite have with forums is that anyone can view their work which makes them a little more inhibited from sharing. With this new way of doing things YOU are in control of who sees your content instead of the admins, the way it should be! If you want to share with everyone, you can; if you want to share with just your close group, you can. We personally don't want to share everything with everyone, and now we all have that option.
So to everyone out there, get posting and tell your candid friends to get on board with the newest way of sharing candids!
